RICHARD COTTLE

Richard was a core member and the permanent keyboardist and saxophone player for THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT (APP) beginning with 1984’s Vulture Culture album though APP final album, Gaudi (1987), playing on 30 APP songs.  Richard’s sax, keyboards, and synths were a key part of the APP sound during this time period. Richard also showcased his keyboard wizardry and smooth sax at the only live appearance of APP during the 1990 Night of the Proms in Antwerp, Belgium.

 

Richard has played keyboards, synthesizer, and/or saxophone on albums by a WHOs WHO in the Rock and Pop world including Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Celine Dion, Wham, Peter Frampton, Tina Turner, Foreigner, Bad Company, Rick Astley, Sade, Seal, Deborah Gibson, John Parr, Maxi Priest, Boy George, Charlie, Aretha Franklin, Elaine Paige, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber, Bucks Fizz, Bonnie Tyler and many more.  Richard has also toured all over the world with such greats as Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Mike Oldfield and Alan Parsons, to name a few.

 

Richard has also contributed to numerous successful soundtracks including Ladyhawke, The Man Who Knew Too Little, and Agent Cody Banks 2. He also a well-accomplished composer, arranger, and producer.

 

2019 brings the long awaited reunion of THE PROJECT Original Voice, Original Musicians of The Alan Parsons Project & Friends for their first tour EVER. The tour will be three years and will commence during the summer of 2019 in Europe. The reunion of Lenny Zakatek on lead vocals, Andrew Powell on keyboards and conducting, Laurence Cottle on bass, Stuart Elliott on drums, Richard Cottle on keyboards and saxophone and featuring DAVE BAINBRIDGE on guitars and vocals will prove to be the rock music event of 2019-2020.
